Regional extent

The on-land distribution of the group is limited to the eastern periphery of the Ryukyu Arc. However, sediments correlative to this group extend to the Okinawa Trough and the eastern margin of the East China Sea Shelf as well as the region around the Ryukyu Islands (Aiba & Sekiya 1979).
